blade

“There can be only one!” the Kurgan growls as the blade cuts deep into the already diseased neck of a frightened mother. His blade slices and mangles and takes out what she needs. Her terror is masked by the kiss of sweet sleep. The anesthesia wears off, her head remains, the pain excruciating. His wicked blade cut flesh and muscle and her naïve belief in immortality. But still she IS the only one. The disease is gone, perhaps forever. All that remains is a nearly invisible badge of victory against death’s onslaught. She sees it and raises an invisible sword in defiance.
While looking for the writer thing that @murisopsis (hope I got close on that spelling) won, I found this prompt instead. So there we go. I really need to watch Highlander again sometime soon.

But judge, I got 31 cards on Father’s Day.
That would leave quite a scar, I think
@vexations - thanks for the update. i’m confused. but more up-to-date now.
@BoulderChristina - on the outside, it’s pretty little.
Wicked visuals. Great job!
nice work
I’ve been so busy I didn’t realize she hadn’t posted it! since I future post all my stuff I just assumed… oh well, secret’s out! hehe! I’m trying to finish the DIY MFA thing and may have to do double duty of these other writing prompts… I like your flash fiction.
@murisopsis - YOU’RE CLOSE TO FINISHING??? oh my golly. i have tons to do yet.
= thanks, i’m glad you do.
@godfatherofgreenbay - thanks
@distractedbyzombies -
@PallidPen - thank you so much. i enjoy having someone tell me what to write. so i’ll be playing again.
I like my head attached!
@Aloysius_son - then stay away from swords.
I love Highlander! I have to watch it again. It’s a book too? Time to get it on my kindle.
@thankee - i do not know if it’s a book.
you should write computer game story lines.
@Big_Bang_Theory - oh. i don’t think so.
I hopped over to see if you were gonna make me laugh today. Oh well, next time! (no pressure !
)
We are very glad to have you and look forward to your future entries.
That’s a wonderfully odd movie. I’ve never seen the tv series.
good job. i can feel the cut.
@onestepcloserto_perfection - like series well enough, but movie- oh my goodness.
@TheSutraDude - ouch
@DivaJyoti - will go for giggles sometime soon. i’ve been silly all day.
You and @murisopsis are made for each other.
Both of you are wonderful with this poetry, story stuff..
@armnatmom - i think she is much better. especially at fiction. but i didn’t really get hooked until last year. so. practice.
Liked the first movie. The other movies (including the bootleg DVD of No. II) not so much. I did like the series. That and Forever Knight…
ooh swords. I likes.
I love that movie. The series was good too, even if it didn’t actually show the decapitations. Oh well can’t win them all, I guess.
In the scene in Highlander 3 that is supposedly set in the Newark airport when Connor is there to pick up his kid you can read Bienvenue a Montreal (Welcome to Montreal) on the wall. I always get a kick out of that.
@badtimin - i’d forgotten about highlander 3, there should have been only 1. sorry that you couldn’t see any decapitations on tv. i enjoy a good error too.
@Zoz36 - in my world there is only 1. forever knight. isn’t that a vampire one with whatsisface
@leaflesstree - swords. something yummy about a sword.
That was excruciatingly painful in more ways than one.
@ZSA_MD - my goodness. what do you mean?
I’ll have to check it out.
wow. very cool. i want…more, please
