at the zoo
so. bluemooncat enormous thing. poetry assignment: write a poem called “at the zoo”. you know sometimes, i just have to be a total goofball. and that. is that.
At the Zoo
The emu raced the tortoise
The lion quietly contemplated ice cream
The otters enjoyed each otter
The hippopotamus cha-
Cha’d with the egret
The sloth’s rapid heartbeat was
Exacerbated by the giraffe’s elongation
The tiger sang soprano with the primates
Monkeys yelled like rock stars
Gorillas crooned “my way” their way
And as the gazelle chased tomorrow
The rhinoceros ate the tenth patron

man, that’s good — and those kinda things are hard to write.
otters are always doin’ that. honestly.
i can’t hear the words on my crappy little laptop, they’re mixed pretty far down, but this poem reminds me of the following: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0
@complicatedlight - well i’m glad that you made a thing we call in the elem ed business a “text-to-song” connection.
@roscoes_farm - unlike some. you appreciate bad poetry.
That’s hilarious! Awesome job.
H ah aha ha ha. Naughty rhino. I was going to say this would be a really cute picture book too, until I realized rhinos eating patrons might be traumatic for children. Sadly those things are often a second thought for me .
what an imagination you have missy
had to think about the the 10th patron? didnt ya’?
@longshadow618 - the whole reason i wrote it.
@anvilsandedelweiss - now that i’ve done my naughtiness, i can always change that. because it would be a mighty fun little kiddie book.
@runisom48 - who needs drugs. i am the walrus. coo coo katchoo
@onestepcloserto_perfection - tanks. i had some fun.
“it’s all happening at the zoo…” simon and garfunkle.
@buddy71 - that’s a cute song.
Your “goofball” attitude, it seems, has paid off. I liked this.
@buddy71 – that’s what I thought first also. It is almost as silly as ‘Feelin’ Groovy’, The 59th Street Bridge Song.
@leaflesstree - but. but. i love that song.
i didn’t know the zoo one.
@armnatmom - thanks. goofball usually gets me in trouble.
@promisesunshine – oh me too. I only encountered the zoo one recently, a surprise since my mom is a big fan of theirs. So I suppose it means she was never fond of it.
Very good
