Rond and rond we geau
The carousel spins slowly round and round
Maneuvers painted ponies gaily gowned
Children giggle and sing at movement slow
The organ tinkles perky tunes we know
Simple joys and happy times always found
The infernal motion to which we’re bound
Constant repetition makes spirit downed
Hope and possibility do not show
The carousel spins
The ride can be bliss when the key is wound
Peace, looking through different eyes, be found
Through circular motion we choose to go
When a mind opens, heart expands, thoughts grow
In priceless moments ponies come unbound
The carousel spins

I love that you used a carousel for this. Brilliant!
@lanney - it was a shower revelation. i’m a genius in the shower. i never want to leave the shower.
@promisesunshine - Me neither The shower is awesome. Hey, they have nudist colonies–maybe we should start a shower colony!
very well done.
nicely done !!
I love carousels and I love your poem!
HUGS!
PS…Did you get Rondeau outa’ your heart?! If not, maybe the Beach Beaus could help you!
great work

*impressed*
@distractedbyzombies - *thanks*
Neat poem. I see you linked to Sheryl Crow, she is one of my favs. I’ve seen her in concert three times. The first time it was raining, (concert outdoors) but she kept on playing and was appearing with Wilco at that time. She helped bet Wilco started.
@vexations - sheryl seems to speak to me on certain occasions. bet she was fun to see live. i was thinking of a certain line from this song last night when i was writing this.
@lanney - a shower colony. i love that. we could also have baths with automatically pumped bubbles.
@promisesunshine - Bubbles are marvelous! The best thing is when you have enough foam to sculpt into ridiculous shapes while you soak. Great baths regress me into my childhood.
@lanney - yea. it’s true. need more bubbles.
excellent carousel!! Love the opposite second and third stanzas. Very nice.
@ordinarybutloud - thank you. i’m sure you get my metaphor.
hmmmmm…uh, yeah.
