shifty
Lots of background noise here since I was with a herd of children at the Earth and Mineral Sciences Museum on campus. This cool thing is on the ceiling. It had lots of displays, but this was my favorite. The red dot is Pennsylvania. I think the dude said each second is 10 million years. I have a very short attention span and worse memory, so that may not be correct information. Still it’s fun stuff, yes?

I just want to know, How do they know this????
That is pretty cool. I like museums.
@bonmots - had fun.
@Aloysius_son - i have no earthly idea. i am not an earth and mineral sciences person.
@leaflesstree - i do too. which is a good thing because we’re headed to the big one(s) on saturday.
I loved this. It is so interesting.
@ANVRSADDAY - thank you.
i’m glad it was worth the ordeal of figuring out how to get it on xanga.
ll cool j
Really cool. Why Pennsylvania? The red dot seemed to be moving though.
I love to go to museums too.
@ZSA_MD - i live in pennsylvania and the museum is in my town. i think the point is the continents were cruising about willy nilly through time. i liked it when pa. was on the coast. too bad it had to mosey away from that.
@complicatedlight - can’t even think of a witty response to that. sigh.
They use to have this museum when I was growing up called The Cumberland Science Museum. That’s what that reminded me of. I loved that place as a kid.
@ItsAll_A_LoveWar - tennessee? i love going to science museums all over the place. i like to play.
i had to decide for our saturday voyage whether to do the smithsonian in dc or the science museum or aquarium in baltimore. (and free admittance won)
@promisesunshine – Yes.
It was Tennessee. It’s not called The Cumberland Science Museum anymore though. It’s called
The Adventure Science Museum. It’s still pretty amazing though. I loved the Smithsonian so much. I was like a little kid in a toy store. I’m a museum nerd.
@ItsAll_A_LoveWar - google is the best invention ever.
i’m trying to figure out how i can get into the art museum. i know none of those people will go in there willingly. and i wanna.
Pangea! Love it!
yes
@murisopsis - thank you for a name. cool stuff.
Now that is impressive.
@promisesunshine - aaah! I get it now. Thanks for the info. I don’t know why I thought you were from the south. My bad!
Now that is cool!!
verry interestink.
@ZSA_MD - no bad at all.
@vexations - @Grannys_Place - @plantinthewindow - i think so too.
@Aloysius_son - @promisesunshine - Google plate tectonics. As someone already stated, Pangaea is the name of the single continent that used to be on the Earth. This site and this site are informative.
