list(less) monday
1.”sometimes beginnings start before you are ready for them.”
attributed to Pooh in Winnie-the-Pooh on Problem Solving In which Pooh, Piglet and friends explore How to Solve Problems so you can too. I think this is genius. That quote. My beginnings ALWAYS start before I’m ready for them. Ha. This book is hilarious. I found it in the library when I didn’t believe that the book I wanted to check out of the library was really lost. I thought maybe if I looked exactly where it should be, that I would find it. How surprising that it wasn’t there. But I took the opportunity to wonder about my logic and to wander through the shelves. I found this gem and I was happy. What I have learned so far. a) AA (as in AA Milne) stands for Alan Alexander. b)problem solving can be achieved through the use of one of those stupid heuristics acronym things that annoy to pooh out of me. c) I can read about stupid acronym things if my friends Pooh and Piglet and Eeyore are talking to me.
2. I think I’ve become possessed by a zombie.
3. Spawn and I sang “Cat’s in the Cradle” while we were walking down the sidewalk. This was the only communication she and I had all day. That girl was surly.
4. LLO went to canoeing camp today and didn’t get kicked out. If I understood correctly, tomorrow they are canoeing from the park that is near(ish) where we live to a state park that is 30 minutes away by car. For ice cream. Yea. I have no idea what else to think about that.
5. I have so much I need to read tonight and I can’t focus and/or keep my eyes open.
6. I’m looking forward to July 4th. I get to be lazy, and I get to have fun. This is a joyous thing. And we have the 4th best fireworks in the country (depending where you look for a list). Eat your heart out.
7. My odometer was at 71071 today.
8. I need a life.
9. Still contemplating 3 things. Spouseman thinks that #2 is crazy. I think it’s a great idea. Which probably means that it is crazy. He thought #3 was crazier until I said it would include all of us. Go figure.
10. snore.

I think it’s about time for bed for me as well
I contemplate is 7 referring to yourself & is 8 the followup to 7?
Who started singing Cat’s in the Cradle first?
#4. i have an idea what to think about that. like walking to the store for a carrot in 100 deg temps. ; )
@Kris0logy - I like goofy number coincidences. but yes, it really does go without saying that i need a life.
@xdeelynnx - miles to go before i sleep. i’m so jealous that you are not taking classes this summer. (except that i’m almost done with my degree after this summer)
@songoftheheart - it actually started with spouseman singing “the cat’s in the kettle at the peking moon”. we all crazy.
@be_the_rain - hope you bought more than one dang carrot.
@promisesunshine - LOL! I love a family that’s crazy together. Do the crazy idea. I am living vicariously through you.
@promisesunshine - I can’t afford to take a class over the summer anyway. I had to tack an extra one on top of my 5 for the fall. It’s online, though.
@xdeelynnx - i had to. this is only offered in the summer. i got a gift to pay for it. i cried my eyesies out, i tell you.
@songoftheheart - #2 or #3? i just had a brilliant idea for #2. i need to check a map.
@promisesunshine - That’s great! Hope it’s going well for you.
@xdeelynnx - today was the first day. terrifying and exciting. and lots of reading this week.
Ah, so that’s what A.A. stands for. I’m suspicious of authors who use initials. J.K. Rowling. J.R.R. Tolkien. I assume they must have terrible names.
Is it possible to be possessed by a zombie? I didn’t think that zombies usually did much possessing, thought that was for poltergeists and demons and whatnot.
@leaflesstree - My thoughts, as well.
@leaflesstree - john ronald reuel. i’d use initials too. and goodness he looks a bit like hitler in that photo. joanne. that’s my mother-in-law’s name. so i’d rather say jk. i think initials make a statement. set one apart from the crowd. who would want to read a book by john tolkein. snore.
i’m possessed because i’m not dead yet. i suppose you and @Inciteful - have a point. but i think i made it abundantly clear that i do not.
@promisesunshine - not dead yet? but are you getting better? that’s the important part.
@leaflesstree - i believe that is a monty python reference.
@promisesunshine – Could be.
Fireworks in my area are cancelled due to the extreme drought we have and our grass basically being fire-starters. Last week a fallen power line caught some grass on fire and cut out power for almost 2 hours.
I need to find a less-droughted area for fireworks.
@Cestovatelka - oh. i shouldn’t mention fireworks. with all the fires. i didn’t think. come to pa. although it’s supposed to rain on july 4th.
I=By the time I get through everyone’s comments, I forget what I was going to say.
I keep wondering if you can develop narcolepsy or if it’s something you always have, but I don’t want to google it cause I’m not sure I want to know.
I miss canoeing.
Everything starts before I’m ready for it. Actually, most of the time, it’s over before I get there.
@lanney - i shouldn’t laugh at that last bit. but i can relate. i miss all the action. that first thing often happens to me too. in this case, the comments are more interesting than the post itself.
i don’t want to google narcolepsy either. i prefer to think that there’s a perfectly reasonable explanation. ha.
i like being on the water too.
I remember sitting in a car once with my dad while “Cat’s in the Cradle” played. That was so awkward
@godfatherofgreenbay - if my dad listened to real radio, we could have had the same awkward moment. such a sad song. missed opportunities and all that.
Old fart I am, I remember when the song came out on radio… Here you go…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zH46SmVv8SU&feature=player_detailpage#t=6s
@Zoz36 - yup. old fart. dang. that really is a sad song.
Hope you enjoy the fireworks! And being lazy….. and remember Winnie said to Pooh, “It is more fun with two.”
@vexations - tomorrow is a good day. today is a long day. what’s going on in your world?
We got rain last night! Nearly 1 and 1/2 inches so I don’t need to water for a while. Wife has a new “sleep mask” for apnea
I am confused about your statement in your post that you “need a life.” Care to say more? Or not…
@vexations - my mom has one of those. breathing all night is good.
fixating on little stuff instead of taking care of big stuff. procrastination is the my bane. i have plenty of life. just need to reorganize it. also, i’m cranky with transitions. just like a little kid. talking like robot.
Transitions are irritations. Procrastination is my favorite hobby and not a bad life style when you stop to think about it.
Winnie the Pooh problem-solving sounds awesome.
@ordinarybutloud - i hope read more about it today. that and shades and catcher in the rye.
@vexations - rubbing that in again.
i believe this is my first comment as “true”….
