sock dancing
bluemooncat enormous thing 3. write a story in 6 sentences
Big sister encouraged wild sock dancing around the living room which little sister was only too glad to follow as she followed everything. Music or not: spinning, spinning, spinning. Little sister crashed forehead into the corner of coffee table: blood everywhere, crying little sister, guilty big sister, panicked parents. First emergency room visit (of many) for that one- involved stitches, a little red striped bear, a permanent reminder of the dangers of dancing around furniture, a Christmas hat, and a lesson not so much learned. Pediatrician said that biggest danger to a little sister is a big sister. No lie.
See the scar on the forehead? Dancing is dangerous. Littleloudone. In case you were wondering, strangely silent and unusually well-groomed. Does she look innocent? I didn’t think so.

Beautiful little child. She doesn’t look fazed by the accident. As a parent of a boy, I’ve panicked many times!
@armnatmom - she was 3 when it happened. she’s an adorable terror. i like her today.
LOL! No, she looks like she is waiting for you to turn your back….
Too cute, she is. Family often causes our scars, but they also cause most of our smiles as well. Sometimes I wonder what I would have been like had I been a sister.
@lanney - i always wished for a sister too. i keep looking.
@songoftheheart - i haven’t said no to her today, so we’re getting along.
pain is a good teacher of how to be careful. At least for most people.
she wears the innocent look of her mother.
@plantinthewindow - there are one or two ways to take that, j. i’ll just laugh and say thank you. that probably covers most of the ways.
@leaflesstree - we are a family with experiential delays.
It’ll only ever happen once.
Delightful and the Pediatrician was quite wrong!
@MzSilver - probably so. we have the phenomenon of “no one can hurt my little sister but me.” (and the reverse too)
I had one sibling–a 12 older brother. He did not protect me because my mission in life was to destroy his tranquility.
@ANVRSADDAY - brothers are a different kind of beast, i’m thinking. my brother left me hanging more than once. (12 years is a huge age spread. he probably wasn’t too thrilled to get a little brother.)
@promisesunshine - My dad was 59 and mom 39 when I was born–Yes, I was an accident that my mother went to her grave denying. lol
@ANVRSADDAY - no accident. maybe not on the to-do list for that year. but definitely no accident. things happen for a reason. (maybe i should listen to myself)
@promisesunshine - I must have got her last egg.
