looking for bananas
men in pink jumpsuits
wait for falling bananas
because they are thereI really had quite the weekend. On top of quite the week. But we’re ignoring the week. Blah blah blah. I was the purge queen yesterday and a little bit today. I filled an entire trashcan, a bag for goodwill, and the fire pit with hoo hoo from the basement. Quite a lot of it projects that have been cluttering my world for possibly a decade. B’bye stuff.
It was pretty close to bedtime when I started a new painting and LLO wanted to join in. Here’s hers.
Today was my last day teaching Sunday School this year. And next. And for a long damn time after that. Because I’ve had enough of that action for a while. This year was not fun. And I went to church after to hear my neighbor (who is actually an obnoxious stuck up girl) sing “Hallelujah”. She did a great job and I told her so. But I fail to see how this song classifies as Sunday goodness in spite of its title. But nobody asked my opinion, which is fine. And I do really like the song anyhow.
I was a little cranky this morning. Then I had a meeting I didn’t want to go to which turned into a conversation about art history, which was also fine since I sat there crocheting like I always do and let people drone on in their conversation I might have enjoyed in a different situation.
Then I came home and purged some more stuff. Books I won’t read or reread and boring colors of nail polish I’ve had since I was boring. Now the dullest color I own is the metallic red that is currently decorating my toesies.
And finally, I decided that I was finishing my painting and just screw everything else.
And when I was done it took me a good long while and an exhausting walk to bring myself back from my trip to the Milky Way. Because THAT was fun. (i’m calling it an artistic orgasm)

Ran out of Wine again???
I hate being awake early on Sundays. It’s a day of rest, right? Great paintings. You should think about selling some.
now are we talken, Leonard Cohen? “hallelujah’?
i really like your eye, and that you had an artgasim.
I’m liking your paintings. Why don’t the men in pink jumpsuits climb the tree to get the bananas? I like bananas but I don’t like pink jumpsuits. I wore a brownish skirt today, I think I can wait for bananas in that.
I really like your paintings and some of them take me back into the 60′s when freedom of expression was an individual right and no one told you that you had to believe the way they do, or see what they do.
I saw men in pink jump suits in Frisco.
I have to remind myself that promisesunshine gets a free pass to have artistic license when she draws a banana plant.
I suppose they chop down the banana bunch with one stroke and get about ten bananas at a time.
Am I a bit cranky right now? Probably more sleepy and missing my regular bed.
Did the girl sing soprano or alto? I suppose I don’t know the part so I shouldn’t have asked that question. Many people singing in a choral just don’t stick out.
Even when teaching the Divine Message, one can burn out and need time off. Hope you feel better soon.
Productivity!
I like it muay much.
Hey, A’Little Cranky, I’m A’Little Freaky!
LLO’s painting is so so SO beautiful! I love the cloud, rainbow, dream theme!
Your paintings are nice, too! I’ve seen men in pink suits before!
That’s a lot of nanners! And I love the eye effect and colors in the last painting!
I am for people having more artistic orgasms!!!
HUGS for a Monday!!!
@Zoz36 - there was no rest. i was all revved up the whole weekend. so i’m starting this monday wishing it was next monday instead.

happy monday!! can i go back to bed now?
@starmanjones -
@longshadow618 - yep. leonard cohen.
@leaflesstree - because i didn’t know they were men or bananas when i painted it.
@Grannys_Place - so we don’t listen. what do you think?
@PPhilip - i’m sorry my banana painting made you cranky. the little men were supposed to be flowers. is that better? and i don’t know what the heck i was thinking with the tree swirls. she sang soprano. and she was afraid of the parts where it went low.
@RighteousBruin - i’m still with the kids on tuesdays. and this means that maybe i can sing in the choir again. which is kinda exciting. sometimes you gotta reassess where you get your juice.
@lanney - i did all kinds of stuff this weekend. made bread. made rhubarb jam. it was weird.
@adamswomanback - you’re for people having any kind of orgasm.
i’m in an orangy kind of monday, thank you. gazing into your painting…transported right the flip out of monday into the milky way.
interesting paintings
When my sister was studying education, one of her fellow future schoolteachers created a “banana tree” that looked like an ordinary deciduous tree with individual bananas hanging here and there from the limbs. She got a kick out of that; obviously her classmate had never seen how bananas grow.
I wish I was good at purging. My garage and workshop are full of clutter and I have thousands of books.
Painting, drawing, both talents I envy! Great stuff
Sunday School was no fun? There were probably no men in pink jumpsuits waiting for falling bananas because they are there, huh?
These are something else. That eye is a real knockout. Center of the milky way, perhaps?Glad the girlie sat to paint with you.
thank goodness you purged that boring nail polish – you should have painted the eye on your newly painted door, then people would think you have a peep hole…I like the Hallelujah song, the Shrek version is my favorite…they announced at our church conference yesterday that anyone working with the minor kids would have to have a criminal background check done so that we would be in-line with our insurance regulations and asked for a vote I voted I yi yi yi yi…I was going to add that God already knew about our backgrounds and to hell with the insurance people…but I didn’t. I like your back from the milky way sentence…reminded me of several songs…drops of jupiter…you and me …under the milkyway…now that your not teaching sunday school you should be a song writer
@mlbncsga - woah. you are as stream of consciousness as me.
criminal background checks. isn’t it a crazy world we live in? where your motives for working with kids in a church are questioned. sheesh. but safety first. sanity left long ago. i’m gonna have to look up these song lyrics.
@distractedbyzombies - i’m still a little high. must be the paint fumes.
@Donkey_Guy_10 - it’s hard to enjoy sunday school when there are several munchkins who say and do exactly what they feel like doing. including saying “butt” and belching profusely. not that i don’t enjoy a good belch and saying butt with the best of them.
@AOK4WAY - thanks.
@Roadkill_Spatula - daylight come and i wanna go home. surely you purged a little bit when you moved? i have finally realized that stuff in bins and bags and boxes that i move from one place to another really serve no purpose. and that’s that. besides the books i got rid of were from the twilight series and some other modern trash that can be borrowed at any library. let them clutter someone else’s house.
@maniacsicko - we don’t like reality.
@be_the_rain - everything you say today sounds like poetry?
I left a ton of stuff in Dallas, but there’s plenty that I threw into boxes because I was too stressed to make decisions. My wife has absolutely no problem purging my stuff… Most of my kitchenware has gone to Goodwill or the trash. I have a hard time parting with books especially. I’ve steered clear of Twilight because all the reviews I read made it sound pretty horrible.
nice paintings
Your talents are showing. Love the eye and the others too.
@Roadkill_Spatula - well. books are pretty important. i can’t purge any spousal stuff. as much as i’d like to.
@godfatherofgreenbay - thanks. how are you?
@vexations - hugs.
I like your painting a lot.
It is one of my favorite things when I get started creating something and one of the wee ones decides they want to join in. There is a special connection in those moments.
@lilies_of_snow - exactly. the only thing they never want to join in is the cleaning. darn it.
@promisesunshine - Heh. Isn’t that the truth.
I love the paintings! Everyone needs a change of pace now and then, and Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah is a magic song, but not one I would expect at church!
How have you been?
@BoulderChristina - life is never dull.
glad to see you. of course you’re missed.
…and boring colors of nail polish I’ve had since I was boring. haha! I can’t ever imagine you boring. I love your whimsy.
@WildWomanOfTheWest - it’s true. i was boring. once upon a time.
HUGS for the HumpDay!!!
I’ll hug you from the front and I’ll be nice and gentle about it!
How you doing today?!
@adamswomanback - hugs. i’m nearly done humping.
