  • fireworks

This was one of the early ones.  The sky is still blue.  I do so like to play with my phone.  The guy right behind us was snapping photos like crazy.  I was satisfied to just catch a few.  My timing was pretty bad most of the time.  Sigh.

    Negative.  I think it’s wild.

I think I have the only child in the US who can’t focus on fireworks.  Then she says the whole walk to the car how this was the BEST 4TH OF JULY EVER.  When I go missing, it will be because LLO has sent me to the funny farm.

Anyhow. The idea of posting fireworkies made a lot of sense before I got distracted reading all those fun posts tonight.

  • pretty good for a phone.   i like the “negative” shot.

  • @buddy71 - i was happy with my few shots.  the neg might be my fav.

  • *oooh…aaah*

The first one looks like hedgehogs trying to snuggle.

  • @lanney - how funny are you. :)

  • love love love negative shot.

  • The negative is awesome!!  It would be a pretty cool design for a tshirt. :)

  • The negative shot is awesome!  Maybe LLO just liked the fact that you were all together for the day.

  • @songoftheheart - she was cranky the whole day until the fireworks.  that girl. for a buck 50 i’d give her away.

  • Good job! They are hard to photograph. My brother is the same as your LLO. He turns his head to talk to people just as they go off and misses half the show.

  • awesome fireworks shots! I forgot my camera this year.

  • Nice work, especially with a cell phone.  LLO  My oldest daughter would turn her head and say she was scared and then tell me what fun she had on the 4th.  Go with the flow and perhaps she will teach you a few things.  I know my daughter taught me a good deal and most of it was good.

  • The negative looks phenomenal

  • @vexations - absolutely.  she has a different perspective on everything.  it’s cool most of the time.
    @l8rmossimo13 - i’m glad i tried it.
@WakeUpLaughing - that means you focused on the moment.  that’s a good thing.
@leaflesstree - it appears the real cameras with speed and stuff make them look totally amazing.  (clog for example)  lucky for me,i have low expectations.

  • The negative looks like a flower.

After watching my daughter ignore the Disney fireworks while she dug in the beach sand with a strange boy, I determined that she is also oblivious to fireworks. Since I seem to care a lot more about their seeing fireworks than my kids do and my wife detests going out to see them, I decided not to bother this year. So, LLO is NOT the only one.

  • @distractedbyzombies - to be honest, i nearly bagged it last night too.  i couldn’t be more lazy lately.

two excellent points here (that you’ve made):  some kids just don’t like them.  LLO has slept through them (live, in crowds and crowds of people) on more than one occasion (which possibly gives you a clue on just how freaking LOUD she is).  AND we parents can stress ourselves the heck out trying to give our kids opportunities they don’t care about.  good on you making that decision.  save the knight in shining armor for the big stuff.

    smile, mark. you ain’t alone.

  • the negative shot is COOL!! great idea~

  • Great shots of the show! Taking pics of fire works, is one area I can’t focus on…

  • I missed the fireworks this year so these are just amazing! I love the negative. Really great for a phone camera :)

  • I wonder how the first fireworks got to be so grand?

Must have been bored and a lot of time on their hands.
To mix some material and ka boom, must have been at first scary and then they got bored of just a boom.
The light shows remained fireworks province for centuries and now we have laser and electric light substitutes.
We go back to the past on fourth of july.
