the sun streams into my window
    I’m ready- ready to greet
the day full of promise and
to enjoy the kiss of the sun.
    yet
    I already miss the night.
for in the night my eyes are closed
    my heart free and open.
you come to me with your touch
and I know what you are thinking
and I feel what you are feeling
and it seems that there is no distance
    between reality and dreams.
in the day the distance is as stark
as the sun burning at already dry grass.

    bluemooncat enormousthing #30.  aubade

in other news, i think i burned my retinas taking that picture.  also, i’m going to have my first ever xanga meet.  and i’m only completely excited about it.  third, have you ever noticed that what you think you are going to write is so often not what you actually write?  what is up with that? fourth, happy that.  i have a hundred and one things to do today and can’t decide which ones to do first.

it’s so annoying when i forget to title.

  • I’ve noticed that too.  So on this poem you went with the flow.  Well, if so that worked out very nicely.

  • I like this. I don’t want to get out of bed most days. Sleep is nice. Enjoy your Xanga meet, hope nobody is too insane. :)

  • @leaflesstree - we’re both insane.
    @vexations - thanks
@songoftheheart - i hadda look it up too. and i got two different definitions which i ended up combining.  i think.  i’m cleaning/organizing now.  so i’m cranky.  but the rest of the day should be good.  hope yours is as well.

  • I had to go and look up aubade.  Which is good, I guess.  Always learning something new here.  Thanks for pushing me along in my journey. I hope your retinas recover enough to enjoy the fireworks tonight.  Have a happy day!

  • Have a fun 4th and I hope your xanga meet is as good as all the xanga meets I’ve ever had! Who are you meeting?

  • @murisopsis - i’m building the anticipation.    it’s next friday, though, so i can’t build anticipation very long.

  • My love visited me in my dream last night.  Happy Independence Day!

  • @RighteousBruin - i’m happy for you.

  • I adore this, even though I am never, never ready for the sun.
I still haven’t figured out how sometimes it seems that words come out through my fingers without me really having thought them first.
    Insanity to the fore!

  • beautiful aubade. yes. and, i’m excited for you, for that xanga meet. do let us know, how insane we are ;)

  • @lanney - insanity is never far from the fore.  over here.  i’m glad you like it.  i was happy with it.  actually i’m probably most happy that i’ve written something other than a report, rant or list.
@Bels_Kaylar - thank you.  i was certain there would be no photo documentation.  perhaps i’ll change my mind.

  • Yes many times my bloc takes a whole different direction sometimes my blog takes on just a rambling effect oh well that is just how my brain works most of the time

  • @SisterMae - i guess that makes it writing from the heart.  i’m ok with that.  how about you?

  • Good luck with the Xanga meet. It’s too dang hot today… Great poem…

  • I, on the other hand, compose, edit and re-edit my post in my head before writing.

  • In the cool of the evening,
I sing a bit of song,
toward the window of my lover,
    my pillow for the night.

    She cares for my touch,
I long to caress her softly,
    Such mutual sighs,
    moaning long into the night.
    PPhilip’s serenade 7/4/12

  • @Inciteful - i don’t compose, edit and re-edit what i say out loud.  gets me in trouble.  i admire you for your careful writing.
@Zoz36 - scorcher today.  my sweat is sweating. (so glad i said that.)  the xanga meet is going to be great.  i have no doubt.

  • @PPhilip - ooh baby. i’m glad it’s nighttime now.  i think i prefer serenades to aubades.
