tragic haiku
Spawn and I were writing cooperative haiku this morning. I haven’t written anything creative in weeks. I’m getting back on the wagon with haiku to honor the dead. This sorta works since Memorial Day is this weekend.
The latest in a long year of famous people from my childhood. Notice how I cleverly (plagiarized) imbedded song titles.
Robin you left us though you tried staying alive It’s a tragedy.Davy Jones. Even though Mickey was my favorite, I can’t help loving Davy because he’s short.
always in my heart a pleasant valley sunday on my radioWho didn’t sing along with Donna Summer On The Radio and Hot Stuff and this one
your steamy songs fit so well with a disco ball at the roller rinkHope you enjoyed my haiku.

Cooperative haiku is a beautiful thing.
@lanney - all downhill from there.
It’s so sad to see all these music legends dying. The golden age of music is slowly leaving us.
Great haikus!
You should try the renga – truly cooperative. These were very inspired! Loved the videos too…
Sad that so many have passed guess it just means I’m getting old! I mean, Robin Gibb was 62?! When did he get so old?
Sad haikus are sad
Death surrounds us at all times
Sunrise and sunset
They’re dropping like flies, aren’t they?
It has been a bad year for music. I like your haikus. Great tributes.
@Cestovatelka - i think there have been many golden ages in music and more to come. it’s just hard to see the legends leaving.
@murisopsis - yea, i know, 62. but 62 seems a lot less old than it used to. and whitney was barely older than i am.
@godfatherofgreenbay - geez. let me get a casket.
@songoftheheart - yes. they are.
@leaflesstree - maybe we’re done for a little while. that would be ok with me.
I loved these videos and your haiku.
I would give for some of your creative talent. I steal things from Seuss and Shel Silverstein.
excellent haiku, Carrie.
Nice haikus. Sorry I haven’t been around. Long story short: Last week sucked with a death in the family to end the week. Will post later this week.
@Zoz36 - sorry to hear that, brian.
@plantinthewindow - much grass, john
@BoulderChristina - i stole all over the place in this one.
@Grannys_Place - thank you. i was wondering how long your hair has gotten…
I am always moved when the Oscars show all those who died that year. Wow, some that I had forgotten about. Makes me sad, really.
Loved your choices.
frank
@ANVRSADDAY - i hardly ever watch the oscars. makes me sad too.
Wonderful selections. You didn’t care for the Bee Gees though?
@armnatmom - actually, i adore the bee gees. the robin one took on a life of its own. i giggled like a fool when i wrote that one. i am so very inappropriate.
Two things, maybe three:
1. I enjoyed the haiku. Is there a plural form, or is it like moose?
2. I LOVE the footstool and now I want one.
3. I still love your mismatching clogs in your profile pic.
Three.
@gwennieg - i have no idea about pluralization of haiku. i’m pretty pleased with my footstool too. and i got an idea for the other chair today at work. now all i need is the time to work on it. by which i mean… thanks
Love the haiku. Very neat.
@ZSA_MD - thanks.
