a relaxing vacation
I’ve been “off” from work for 6 days
In that time I have:
made an Easter dress for Spawn
finished or nearly finished 3 prayer shawls (which were in various states of progress)
(little cat feet not included)
quality control checked somewhere around 25 pillows which were then delivered to the hospital today but not by me
spent 12 hours doing art stuff with 11 kids and Spawn
spent a bazillion hours getting ready to do previous
at least partially cooked an Easter dinner that put all of us into food coma
(which is not to say the food was partially cooked)
koolaid dyed tips of Spawn’s hair blue
put a first coat of paint on my paper mache project from the scavenger hunt
(which a complete bust for me)
finished a book and started a new one- reading, that is
played a lot of Candy Crush on Facebook- excellent use of time
was invited for a sleepover with my 2nd favorite 16 year old
who also told her mother that her life would be perfect if her mom and I were lesbian parents
which made me laugh hysterically
painted this cake thing (ala Wayne Thiebald)
took nowhere near enough naps
I can’t believe my vacation is over
I’m exhausted.

Uh oh…
that doesn’t sound very relaxing
the shawls look nice
Something in me tells me that you enjoy every bit of it.

I wish you lived near me. I need someone to make clothes for me and am willing to pay.
heh. so That’s a cake painting! i thought you and kids were painting cakes. with frosting or whatever came to mind. like koolaid for spawn hair. i bet she loves it. i need to do a rainbow hair painting. wait, this was about you. but only for a minute
those shawls are wonderful. oxo
OMG you were so busy and productive it makes me feel ashamed!
You are so creative!!!=)
You may want to re-think the coffee intake. Sheesh. I need a vacation after reading this.
now you need a vacation from your vacation? sounds like you had some good times!
Happy productiveness.
@GoneRetired - please don’t. all i wanted to do was be a bum.
@Crystalinne - yes, please.
@armnatmom - :)
@Zoz36 - gimme some coffee now. and i had weird dreams too.
@xxMissforbiddenfruitxx - thanks
@JstNotherDay - that would be entertaining. which reminds me that i have tons of sewing commitments that i had put out of my mind
@godfatherofgreenbay - not much. but there were some shining moments.
@Bels_Kaylar - that’s a fun idea too. but i actually like my cake painting.
Sounds like a fun (if not restful) time. You’ll have to go back to work to rest up for your next “vacation.”
I think I’ve gained 5 pounds just looking at your cake painting….do you paint coffee too
@mlbncsga - you cannot gain pounds from a cake painting. this is why it is fun. coffee. now that’s an idea. perhaps this afternoon.
@ata_grandma - isn’t it always the way?
Brava! Sounds like an excellent vacation (except for the part where it is over)!
sounds like a great break….glad you got a lot done and that you enjoyed most of it.
little cat feet really make the picture, I think.
Easter dinner. I knew I forgot something. But then, I ate nothing on Easter. I could go for ham. Or breakfast. sheesh.
It’s probably good that sixteen year olds don’t invite me to sleepovers. Yep.
i love mr. thieibaud’s fetishism of objects
yours is nice
you sure did a lot of things. you rawk. and i hate you for it too.
The prayer shawls look nice.
As to hair color, I cannot get my wife us use blue or purple in her hair. I would like multi-colored hair.
You are one busy gal.
frank
@bonmots - i can’t get anyone to feel sorry for me.
@distractedbyzombies - i crashed right after easter dinner. my answer to the girl, “that’s only a little bit awkward”. it cracks me up that she asked in front of her boyfriend.
@vexations - i suppose it was.
@murisopsis - and over it is. time to rock and roll. (get on with the next thing)
@HUMOR_ME_NOW - i always think of high school Latin when i think of blue or purple hair. what was that lady’s name.
What a busy vacation. Was that due to spring break?
You did, and accomplished, a LOT! Now you need a two day vacation to recover from your vacation. Was your paper mache project a bust, a bust, and did it bust, or was it a bust?!
HUGS!
@olwd - not exactly spring break, but a longer break than our spring break.
@adamswomanback - i’m so sleepy. paper mache project is not a bust or busted. at least it isn’t busted yet. it’s just weird and not finished by the hypothetical. hypnotical. astronomical. somethingical deadline.
@promisesunshine - I love doing paper mache! One time I did 3 fish to decorate for a kids art class…and my fellow teacher asked if she could have them after the class was over. She hung them in her bathroom at her home, and they’re still hanging there. I took it as a compliment. Ha. Maybe it wasn’t a compliment.
Oh…the scavenger hunt is a bust?! I miss read that! HUGS!!!
@adamswomanback - wait until you see my silly project. it is ridiculous. but it is multipurpose. and best of all, everyone knocks it over wherever i put it. and it’s ridiculous. not going to finish it today, for sure. but maybe by this weekend. ha.
Sometimes in the pursuit of wanting to enjoy the vacation, we over do and exhaust ourselves.
Having said that, I love those shawls.
Mothers never really have vacations, do they?
Well, still, glad you got some sort of break from the craziness of routine life.
Quite a bit accomplished… well at least you had fun in your exhaustion.
here it it is nearly 5 days later or one plus one makes two and this is all I’ve to say to you I scanned this I’m am glad. I saw smile’s bliss yay and I’ll end it here
