for the people?
#wintsh21. Take a poem you have previously written and revise it by putting the images in reverse to see how it changes the poem. (Cheater pants prompt for a busy week.)
For the People?
The decision rests solely in the heart of a furry creature
For whom mercy may not even be a consideration.
The moon faces the day, intent on his own concerns.
The god eyes in the mountain look upon the scene:
An observer only
The predator ponders:
Is it mercy or control that motivates his plan
The lamb silently waits-
Carefree and ambivalent
Drugged and impotentThis is the original version:
For the people The lamb silently waits-
Drugged and impotent,
Carefree and ambivalent-
As the predator ponders.
Is he beast or man?
Is it mercy or control
That motivates his plan?
The god eyes in the mountain look
Upon the scene -
An observer only.
The moon faces the day
Intent on his own concerns.
The decision rests solely
In the heart of a furry creature
For whom mercy may not
Even be a consideration.Even though I kept the same words and only changed the order, I think it does change the poem. What do you think? I think it makes the lamb seem far more foolish and the minotaur more manipulative. I can’t decide which version I prefer.
Based on this @aloysius son work “minotaur and lamb”

I like the new version better, I think. I’m not sure why, but it seems more suspenseful. And concise.
I like it a lot, and I agree with leafless.
Both of them make me want lamb chops with roasted garlic and mint jelly.
New one is more appealing to me.
Yeah, there’s a gravity about the new one. It’s taken on a sense of magic. I love it. Nicely done!
@Aloysius_son - tasty!
@distractedbyzombies - @vexations - @lanney - @leaflesstree - revision. who knew it could be so cool? i may try it again some day.
@promisesunshine - not I, said the…wait, we did that already.
@distractedbyzombies - i can stop anytime i want.
It works!! And it isn’t cheating – it is a prompt!!
What a great idea! I like both poems!
Aw, I want to save the lamb before next weekend.
HUGS!!!
@adamswomanback - no lambs were harmed in the making of this poem. HUGS! i was just thinking about you.
@promisesunshine - Ha! That’s good to know!!!
I swinged by with HUGS for today!!! Thanks for thinking of me!!!
@starmanjones - You would probably cook up the lamb and serve it with some delicious side dishes!
@adamswomanback - I do know how to make a neato mongolian lamb hot pot soup. this means the side dishes real diet busters too fried died and laid to the side… perhaps some fried zucchini onion blossom action! mini spring bites with spicy fruit dip. simpler sushi too. ahh is that proof enough you might be right?
@adamswomanback - howdee ho!
@promisesunshine - hodee how!!!
@adamswomanback - hugs. (snoozy ones)
Very Good. I enjoyed the final version the most.
