  • whole lotta random

Pretty sure this is going to be a random report of randomness full of random.

Rose of Sharon from my front yard.  Yay.

I took a walk during the daylight hours.  This is unusual.  My saunterings are usually late at night or purposeful.  Wow.  Lady Gaga on my Depeche Mode station.  Cool. My escort cat came with me, but not as far as she does in the nighttime.  Must be too much action. Speaking of action, she was clearly moving (or I was) when I snapped these two.  Happy kitty.  This is Princess Buttercup. She is no longer quite as shy as she used to be.  Probably because Psychoninjakitty bugs the everloving crap out of her all the time.

Completely unrelated.  Yesterday my girls were fighting.  I know.. a shocker.  Spawn kicked LLO and was encouraged not to kick her sister.  Duh.  She said, “I didn’t kick her, I pushed her with my foot.”  Hard to argue with that kind of logic.

Today at work, I got to play with caterpillar poop.  I have no recollection of what else I did today at work.  I know I was busy.  I always am.

The oak trees have grown lots of acorns and they are big honking things.  (Aren’t my plaid sneakers awesome?)  Doesn’t that mean this winter is going to be more like winter than last winter?  I’m already getting happy thoughts for a snow day (of which there were none last year.)

Spawn and I went to the fabric store yesterday.  Because she has designed a homecoming dress and she thinks I’m going to make it right for her.  She’s delusional.  But I will pretend.  Anyhow the woman who waited on us apparently works there just to spew her personal business.  She yakked to the lady before us, us and the lady after us.  And all of it was new information.  I could give a report.  I don’t want to.  Seriously.  She needs to get a xanga account to spew personal business. (like me)

And flowers that random people in my neighborhood have planted.  Spewing to you, that is.

This year’s kids aren’t hugging me yet.  Last years still are though.  I did see one of the boys this evening.  He asked me how my evening was going and said it was nice to see me.  He’s 6.  I wish my kids had his manners.  He’s a sweetie.  And his little brother told me the baby bird couldn’t fly without the feather.  Made me smile.

Tomorrow LLO and I are going to a picnic.

I just got another email from school.  I’m wondering if we’re going to make it to the end of September.  I was thinking that things were getting better in 6th grade.  Silly me.

Is anyone else having a really strange evening?

  • I’m not having a strange evening for once o_o just doing some laundry and reading a bit. Your plaid shoes definitely are awesome :)

  • @xdeelynnx - i should stick my head in a book (or the washer).

  • @promisesunshine - How about a book instead

  • I love plaid in all its forms. I am that nerdy. I have known and worked with cashiers like that. Customer says, “Hi, how are you?” and the next thing you know they’ve spewed their entire life story, their financial issues, how their mother is doing since her hip replacement, how the niece turned ten and the nephew got into a fight and the cat has diarrhea. I was never that way. Sharing online is more my style. :)

My evening has been normal. Came home, had dinner (okay, dinner was a little unusual, I had avocados with it) watched some TV did some online stuff, played with the cat.

  • @leaflesstree - exactly.  i will tell random online strangers (and my close friends who have never met me) just about any darn thing, but i’ve got to know you pretty well to spew in person.

i like avocados.  spawn cooked dinner again.  i could get used to this.  but no avocados.  but i’d say the full moon was back if that was possible.

  • No not strange evening, but a great evening. Had book club meeting, then went to my son’s home and played with his son, came home and watched the most frikking awesome US Finals of tennis. Great evening.

  • @ZSA_MD - that does sound great.  what was the book? (was it that kind of book club meeting?)  i started a new book.  i should go read.

  • I love rose of sharon and your walk around the neighborhood–definitely a good thing.  I took one myself and got our frozen food from the church since I finally convinced Gma her freezer wasn’t broken it was just defrosting itself the other day.  Then her sister-in-law and her 3-year-old granddaughter came by so I got to play with her. : )   They were waiting on her brother who is in 2nd grade to get done with football practice!  Then Gma came home from her senior citizens meeting and I played pitch with her and a couple of her friends.  Now I am going to put ice on myself because I was out of position from my hips to my jaw.  At least my overbite is back now; I’ve had an underbite for a week.  Yeah, there you go.  Good for Spawn for cooking supper.  : )

  • @lanney - dang. that was awesome.  i felt just like i was at the fabric store except that nobody had diabetes and a beard.

  • hahaha  And at least reading doesn’t take as long as listening!

  • I had to laugh at the psychoninjakitty comment. I want to see that ninja kitty. And the plaid sneakers are awesome (as long as you don’t wear jungle print anything at the same time)… Hope the transition to 6th grade straightens itself out soon. Random happens to everyone sometimes!

  • @murisopsis - i’ll try to catch the littlest cat.  i can usually find her chewing on my arm or ambushing princess or being tortured by LLO.  i don’t own jungle print.

i hope the 6th grade thing straightens out soon too.  the girl is making me act my age.  that’s just annoying.

  • @promisesunshine - Today we discussed O’Reilly’s book, “Killing Lincoln”. It is a little exaggerated, but we got a good discussion going. Next month we are reading The Time Traveler’s Wife. I have read that and I cannot wait to see what the other gals will think of it.

  • sorry, I got distracted because there was a picture I hadn’t seen before, so I left this post to go read that one, and where was I?  Then or now?  You always have interesting shoes.  How long have you had this fetish?

  • Hmmm… playing with caterpillar poop I got nothing for, but if instead you had expressed a bad attitude at it then it could be said that you sassed a frass.

  • love your random ramblings ;) so, and i could go dig this up in your back blogs, you’re a teacher?? we’ve only been talking, like for a month, so, i’m clueless. or always clueless, but this is a specific clueless ;)

  • @HappierHeathen - sassafras.  good tea. caterpillar poop happens.  when you wanna hatch monarchs in school.
@ZSA_MD - how bizarre! i just bought the time traveler’s wife at goodwill!!  i started reading an alice hoffman.  seems light.  i need light and fluffy right now. (after the ridiculosity of the 200 pager taking so long to read)
@songoftheheart - i have had a shoe fetish from the moment i had access to money. i have to curb it.  maybe someday i’ll do an imelda post.  (although my assortment is kinda lame now- used to be pretty darn awesome)  who did you visit that you didn’t already know?

  • @Bels_Kaylar - i have the best job.  i’m a teacher’s aide.  so i get all the fun and none of the stress.  also, i don’t get paid enough to buy shoes.  but i get hugs.  hugs are better than shoes.

  • strange evening, strange day…yes. and i simply adore your plaid sneakers and that first flower “rose of sharon”.. a beautiful name. have heard of it but never seen one. kittieboo is precious.

  • @promisesunshine - heh. yes, hugs are better than shoes. besides, with your talent, you can paint any old pair of shoes = unique aka couture shoes ;)

  • @be_the_rain - tried to find the origin of the name.  it’s related to my precious hibiscus.  appears to be biblical but i dunno.  i think it’s so pretty.  and it grows without effort.  :) very strange evening.  kitty was so frisky.  she cracks me up.

  • @Bels_Kaylar - couture.  ha.  that’s a funny word to apply to my life.  :)

  • @promisesunshine - it was your picture of abstract art, and your poem about your naked body…I have missed a lot around here.  LOL!  And tonight I’m just trying to stay awake long enough to read my subscriptions…and having a hard time doing that!

  • OH!  and also a bumblebee hitched a ride in my car and then I thought it flew out the window but it didn’t.  It hid in my grocery sack and then I brought it inside and then when I was eating supper I could hear it buzzing so I had to hurry and take it outside even though I wasn’t wearing pants because I hate clothes even though I have a lot and then I set it free in the grass!  : )

  • were you protecting the cat’s identity in the cat community because it doesn’t want to lose it’s street cred as a human hater?

  • @songoftheheart - let’s not be talking about nekked anymore.  ;)
@lanney - i accidentally went into the living room in my underwear.  llo asked me a question.  and the other day i moved my no parking wheelbarrow while wearing a nightie in the rain.  since we’re sharing wackiness.  yes, you win.

  • @godfatherofgreenbay - ha ha.  she’s a little shy.  :)   isn’t that a hoot?  oh my gosh.  that is the most amusing comment of the entire evening.

  • My evening was normal—I watched TV and my husband fell asleep in his chair. Whoopee. Yes, I like the tennies.

  • Nope, my evening isn’t strange. I’m just looking on Xanga and reading a book.

  • Mondays are strange. And painfull. But after seeing Arizona Teas are two for a buck at Wal Greens, Monday sucked a little less…

  • @whyzat - giggle.
@Shining_Garnet - i’m glad the world was normal elsewhere
@Zoz36 - SO glad you got your arizona tea fix.

  • I loved your random report—that is the way life is–random all day. The usual with the unexpected and noticing nature and fashion preferences.

My days are not strange since my boss controls everything.

  • @ANVRSADDAY - you want freedom and i want someone to tell me what to do.  i think we both need a happy medium.  or a ouija board. or magic 8 ball.  and now i got silly.  after all, it’s tuesday.

  • An e-mail from school.  I imagine that you didn’t take that as good news.  In a way, that might be a good thing if they are trying to keep on top of things and prevent issues from arising.  But, remember that I tend to be the optimist.

  • @vexations - and so do i.  tend to be an optimist.  the email from school is just more parenting required of me.  i might have to re-evaluate my priorities.  actually the email was fine.  everyone is on her side.  so it’s just getting her to aim for the path.

  • Nothing wrong with a random report of randomness. Sometimes those can be the most enlightening posts of all. Oh, and “I didn’t kick her, I pushed her with my foot.” sounds just like something my 5-year old would say! LOL

  • @MyxlDove - unfortunately, that particular child is 15.  (and only acts 5 some of the time.)

  • @promisesunshine - Oh, well… I’ve got one of those too. Along with a 17 year old, an almost 4 year old, a 16 month old and one on the way. So, yeah… this could’ve been a conversation between any pairing of children.

  • @MyxlDove - oh. my. golly.  i need a nap just thinking about your life.

  • I’ve known salespeople to carry on long conversations about me with my girlfriend (“ha ha men are so dumb”) as if I weren’t there.  Mary didn’t understand why I politely walked out of the store and stranded her.

  • I don’t know where you live, but predictions for the mid-Atlantic region says we are going to get slammed with snow. This thought makes me insanely happy.

  • @we_deny_everything - stranded as in took the car and left?  silly girlfriend.  the question is what happened next.  which is none of my business.
@DMMeyer - i’m such a dip today, i’m not even sure if i’m mid-atlantic or not.  i think so.  and i’m happy about it. if virginia gets more snow than pennsylvania again, i’m writing a letter. :)   get rid of your buzzing critters?

  • Kitten looks like she is quantum tunneling through the space-time continuum.

  • You get to play with caterpillar poop at work?!? LUCKY!!

  • @BoulderChristina - i get to do it again tomorrow.  wahoo.  today i got to make a banner and make people cry.
    @PrisonerxOfxLove - bizarre photo, yes?

  • I had a wonderful morning. It started out with a remarkable view of the cresent moon and Venus in close proximity to each other. My evening is rather relaxing. Thank you for asking!

  • Beautiful rose of sharon.  I like your walking partner and yes it was a strange evening, but then my mind has been strange for quite a while now.
