an excuse for a flower
I planted my new hibiscus last night. This is the gift she gave me this morning!
And the other one has given me fine blossoms for tea.
I had big plans for this morning. So far I have drunk a pot of coffee. But now, really, I’m going to do the thing I was going to start almost 2 hours ago. Yes, I am. Except that there’s more coffee. And a biscuit with strawberry jam. And I can’t decide on my motivational music. Maybe I should just forget the whole thing. We can keep walking around the junk.
I’m qualified for TRUE and Xanga won’t give it to me. Write your favorite Congressperson.
Stepping away from the computer, because it’s a beautiful day.

It is a beautiful day to step away from the computer! How did you get a bloom overnight? I have a black thumb, and all plants I touch wilt. I envy your skills.
What is a true membership?
@BoulderChristina - true is the program where you post 3 things and you are 50% to true and then you post almost daily for 8 months after that and eventually the number is right. and then you have to ask xanga to bestow this beautiful status (like premium only you don’t pay) to become one with the xanga gods. so it’s probably ridiculous to want it. but i do. so give it to me. now.
i got a bloom overnight by buying the perfect specimen. i’m a little worried that i’m killing the other one. several buds have baked before blooming.

Pretty flower. Why won’t they give you TRUE? I got it a while back. Maybe they are jealous that you are TOO awesome. Beautiful day, huh? It’s currently 86, supposed to get to 91. Think I’ll stay inside with the cat and the AC.
@leaflesstree - i haven’t been denied, i’ve been ignored. which is so much worse. you know? i have to clean up the living room before i can go play. which is probably why i keep ending up at the computer.
@promisesunshine - ah, well, that’s easy to answer. The Xanga team is at the beach. Or staying inside in the AC instead of answering your True Request.

Lovely flower too. I went out early to water and beat the heat. I noticed my mandivillas are starting to bud.

That is a beautiful flower. It would make a lovely dress. It is dark and thundery here, my favorite weather. I never think of true unless someone mentions they are due for it. I hope it is all you hope it will be.
@distractedbyzombies - yes, it would be a lovely dress. if i wasn’t nearly thinking about getting ready to get the heck out of here, i would contemplate creating just such a thing. with the pinks and everything.

I’m going to try to plant lupines in my yard and make it all pretty but I had some and they died out in the last heat wave
@godfatherofgreenbay - i’m worried that my flowers are frying too. awfully hot. i have no idea what lupines are. i think i looked the last time you mentioned them. guess i’ll look again. bad memory.
I am lucky they don’t have a system designed to take away the true emblem. I stopped for a while and the true emblem remained.
It was ridiculously easy to get it seemed to me. Since you have not seen yours, more likely you would treasure it more than I did.

Fabulous. I planted a scarlet one before summer and it is still producing flowers now at mid winter, -3C this morning.

When I had earned my true I bugged the hell out of Xanga til they gave it to me. Sometimes ya got to rattle their cage.

Why won’t Xanga give you the True code? Yes it was a beautiful day to be outside.
You will suddenly notice the TRUE in your blog. Many years ago, when I joined, I didn’t know didly about all these things. And one day I saw ‘true’ on my blog. I had to ask someone what that meant. Did you know you can pay for your premium by having 25K credits? I do that sometime.
I have a large bush of the giant hisbiscus in one corner of the garden. Its blooms are HUGE. I should get some pictures and post them. I love the beautiful pastel color your bloom has. The hisbiscus on my deck have orange and red blooms, and they are not of the giant variety.
