time passages
poetry on a theme that isn’t whining. all for bluemooncat enormous thing.
2. epistolary poem
To the young woman in the mirror
Do not wish for later, it comes faster than you think. Do not wonder what will be, it cannot match your expectations. Do not think on forever, it is never long enough Do not expect always, transience is the only guarantee. Do not criticize your face, lines are character but they are still lines. Do not worry, tomorrow does come. Do not doubt yourself, your best is good enough most of the time. Do not compare, you cannot see inside anyone but yourself. Do not second guess your decisions, even the wrong ones lead you somewhere. Do not cry over things you cannot change, but you’ll ignore that advice. Remember to smile,
it’s a good life.7. Triolet
Sand
The sands trickle in perpetual motion,Neither stopped nor slowed by our wishes,Marking the forever gone of our years.The sands trickle in perpetual motionIgnoring the banality of our fears and tears-Gathering speed as we gain patience.The sands trickle in perpetual motionNeither stopped nor slowed by our wishes.Once you triolet, you find you like olet. Have another.

Time is like a song
Make days last forever, if words could make wishes come trueHanging on in quiet desperation, we’ve all got time enough to cryIf you're lost you can look--and you will find me.Make days last forever, if words could make wishes come trueTime keeps flowing like a river, to the sea, to the sea.Are you reeling in the years stowing away the time?Make days last forever, if words could make wishes come trueHanging on in quiet desperation, we’ve all got time enough to cry

“Do not second guess your decisions, even the wrong ones lead you somewhere.” Most excellent wisdom.
I must come back to read these. My first read is wow. I’m rushing off for an appt. will be back later today. These are must reads aloud and time and again.
these are all fine advice. and fine poems, as well.
I especially like the Steely Dan mention.
the first one is well said, especially.
@plantinthewindow - did you catch the other songs?
tanks.
@vexations - that is a very nice compliment.
@songoftheheart - i surprise my own self sometimes.
@promisesunshine - of course. Croce, Pink Floyd, etc.
@plantinthewindow - of course, indeed.
Good stuff. I came over here expecting an Al Stewart song, and instead I find Steve Miller, Croce, Pink Floyd, and some pretty good stuff of your own. Wait, that’s not Steve Miller! Oh well.
Wow the first one, I was really needing to hear something like that today O.o I’m still not listening to those advices but it feels good to know someone else has been where I am :3
I only caught the Steely Dan and Floyd. heh
I like these a lot. The first one is especially great. It’s important to share we’ve learned. Even with ourselves.
@xXxlovelylollipop - nobody listens to advice. even from ourselves and no matter how true it is. give yourself a big hug, nadia.
@distractedbyzombies - i talk at myself a lot.
@Roadkill_Spatula - now i’ve gotta listen to that song. thanks.
These are good.
I love Croce.
I hope today is brighter.
@lanney - infinitely. thanks. and thanks.
I started thinking I was imagining the familiarity of the lines in the third one.
Very clever! All are nice. Some of my favorite songs.
excellent work
Much wisdom in each of these. I liked #1. It is oh so very true in all ways. Lovely post, my dear. A wonderful share. Thank you.
Awesome sauce : )
Now I have new songs in my head. yay.
I agree with MzS my fav. is #1. Love the triolet too. I’ve written a few and with this one I gather an image of an hourglass…..the sands of time….without you mentioning one. Hope you had a good day.
@vexations - that’s what i was going for. thanks for coming back. i think i might need to share #1 with my girlies.
@anvilsandedelweiss - always good to have new songs for the head.
@MzSilver - thanks, i’m glad you liked.
@godfatherofgreenbay - tanks.
@ordinarybutloud - what i do for entertainment. i’m just a wild thing.
I like that first one, it’s profound. And the last one, it’s amusing to me. Took me a second to realize they were song lyrics on purpose. Yeah, I’m a bit slow.
Never heard this word “triolet,” before. It intrigues me.
@leaflesstree - thanks. i’m learning all kinds of new things too. thank goodness for google.
Love that first poem.
These are lovely… the first one is my fave !
@Bricker59 - @roscoes_farm - thank you, gentlemen.
